Up until recently, it was very difficult to use these fantastic old FD lenses on digital cameras. With the EOS mount, Canon changed the Flange Focal Distance (FFD) of their mounts, so even with an adapter, the FD lenses wouldn't work properly. Thanks to Optitek in Thousand Oaks, CA - who have manufactured an FD mount for the Red Epic - we can now see this wonderful glass in action on digital cameras...

After owning the Red Epic for just over a year now, I've had plenty of experience with the cinematography aspect of using the camera. The last two sets of model shoots I did was with a Canon T1i and 35mm AE-1 Program with Kodak Portra film stock. This weekend, I finally was able to try out shooting bits of video to capture stills, rather than one click at a time.
